We are pleased to announce the release of rsyslog v8.2502.0. This release delivers significant improvements in reliability, performance, and maintainability, along with several bug fixes and enhancements.
Key improvements include a fix for a critical TLS handshake blocking issue, ensuring uninterrupted log forwarding. Performance under heavy load is significantly enhanced by increasing the imptcp SYN backlog and introducing the socketBacklog parameter for both imtcp and imptcp. The test suite is more robust thanks to fixes for flaky tests and adaptations for high connection counts. Modernization continues with the switch to inet_pton for IP address conversion and the addition of Ubuntu 24.04 support to our CI. Security is bolstered by enabling ephemeral Diffie-Hellman key exchange. Several other bug fixes and enhancements are included.
This update is recommended for all rsyslog users.
Make sure to read up on the changes in the full Changelog.
As always, feedback is appreciated.
